Air Warrior EDM Tablet PC

The Air Warrior EDM Tablet PC kneeboard computer system is a rugged, lightweight, portable workstation that provides the high performance Windows XP Professional Operating System in a configuration optimized for rugged wearable, kneeboard requirements. The EDM Tablet PC was called into action on many US Army helicopters to provide blue force tracking and moving map applications. It features weights and measures software and can be used as an Electronic Flight Bag. To date, over four thousand EDMs have been delivered to the Army and continue to serve in the field.

The Air Warrior EDM Tablet PC is powered by the state-of-the-art VIA Eden 1 GHz ULV processor with power management technology. The CPU runs at 1GHz and supports up to 1 GB of on board DDR2 RAM, while operating at extremely low power. An optional 1.6 GHz Intel® Atom™ processor is also available. The Intel® Atom™ processor offers increased performance with reduced heat and power requirements.

The system features the VIA Graphics UniChrome™ Pro IGP graphics core that supports both 2D and 3D graphics. A 6.4” diagonal LCD features a LED backlight and integrated touch panel offering a power-saving, high performance display and precise human interface. This transflective display is 640 x 480 pixels with 262K colors, is daylight readable and dimmable to less than 1.5 nits for night vision compatibility.

The Air Warrior EDM Tablet PC features an internal solid state drive with up to 64 GB of storage capacity. The system also features our proprietary Secure Drive Encryption hardware encryption that encrypts files in real-time for unparalleled data security. The unit can be zeroized at the press of a button even when the battery has been depleted. The system uses the latest Solid State drives that reduce power consumption and maximize drive read / write performance. The basic unit provides external USB 2.0 connections, while power and Ethernet connections are provided via the mil circular connector. The EDM receives situational GPS information from the GPS Message Router.

The Air Warrior EDM Tablet PC is constructed using a two-piece aluminum alloy chassis for heightened rigidity. The optional trifold and straps complete the kneeboard configuration. The unit is designed to meet the most rugged environmental requirements of Army helicopter airborne scenarios and is ideal for any extreme kneeboard computer applications.
