The 8.4” Rugged Tablet PC is a versatile, state-of-the-art rugged tablet PC with electronic flight bag capabilities. The 8.4” Rugged Tablet PC features a low-power, high performance 1.6Ghz Intel® Atom™ processor that is designed to reduce system temperature and power consumption without compromising performance.
A key advantage to the 8.4” Rugged Tablet PC its ability to hot-swap multiple screen sizes. Users can remove the 8.4" display and swap it out with a 10.4" or 12.1" display without having to take apart the chassis. The Tablet PC also has a array of connectivity and Wireless internet, 3G wireless, a card scanner, and a built-in web camera are available in addition to the USB 2.0, Ethernet, audio, PCMCIA expansion, and video out connections that are standard features on 8.4” Rugged Tablet PC.
The processor is complimented by up to 2GB DDR2 RAM to run demanding software and moving map applications. Maximum application compatibility is achieved by using a standard Windows® XP operating system. LINUX is also available for users who need an open software architecture.
Additional expansion modules can be added through an embedded mini-PCIe slot and a external docking connector located on the bottom of the unit.
The 8.4” Rugged Tablet PC was designed to be used in environments were screen readability is compromised by ambient light. To combat this, the 8.4” LCD display features a LED backlight with increased sunlight readability. This 600 nit display also functions as a touch screen to allow users easy interaction with the operating system.
Programmable buttons and a mouse joystick are located below the display, for added user input options. Users can program these buttons to execute frequently-used applications. On the right hand side of the screen are brightness, rotation, power, and AV mute buttons.
