   Rugged Portable Systems presents the latest in our continuing product developments, the Ruffbook 2002 Ruggedized Portable Computer. The Ruffbook 2002 is designed to provide the mobile user with a system that can be configured to the equivalent of a desktop system by the addition of user supplied PCI Cards or additional peripherals within the chassis.  The system is totally sealed and non air-breathing for use in environments with excessive sand and dust or salt spray.

   The system is based on a highly integrated, high-performance, mobile embedded processor that is pluggable, so that future upgrades will require only replacing this module to keep the system at the state-of-the-art for many years to come. The display is sunlight readable and low power utilizing the latest developments in transflective technology in which the LCD uses reflected light for illumination in direct sunlight.
