Pyxis Tablet Computer

  The Pyxis Workstation computer system is a rugged lightweight portable workstation that provides the high performance Windows XP Operating System in a configuration optimized for wearable or vehicle mounted ground requirements.

  The Pyxis Workstation is powered by the Transmeta Crusoe 5800 processor. The CPU runs at 800 MHz and supports up to 640 MB of on board RAM, while operating at extremely low power. The unit features a fast video processor with 8MB of video RAM separate from system memory. A 6.4" diagonal LCD with integrated touch screen provides the system human interface. The display is 640 x 480 pixels with up to 262K colors, is sunlight readable, and dimmable to less than 1.5 cd/m2 for night vision compatibility.

  The Pyxis Workstation is equipped with an internal hard disk drive supplying up to 30 GB storage capacity employing the latest inherently rugged and low power 1.8" drives.

  The Secure Pyxis Workstation is constructed using a two-piece lightweight aluminum alloy chassis. The system is also fitted with a tethered stylus that can be clipped to the workstation when not in use. The workstation can be fitted with optional rubber bumpers to protect the system from damage. The workstation is also designed to satisfy the environmental requirements necessary to operate reliably in severe tactical field applications.
